The instrument never touches the shell.
A fine instrument is most vulnerable where it is most beautiful: its arched back and its delicate edges. That is why, inside this case, your violin does not lie on the bottom. It is held on three padded points of support and suspended above the shell, so its most fragile surfaces never touch it.
ShellFree space: the back never touches the shell123- 1Neck heel support
A padded cradle beneath the heel of the neck, one of the strongest points of the instrument, carries its weight.
- 2Lower bout support
A second support holds the lower edge of the body, keeping the back level and clear of the shell.
- 3End support
A third padded block holds the end of the instrument, so it cannot slide forward or backward in transit.
For an instrument of great value, the case is not an accessory. It is its first line of protection.
Protection
When the case is knocked or dropped, the impact reaches the shell first and is absorbed before it can travel to the instrument. Nothing presses against the back, the top or the edges.
Safety
Your violin is held firmly in one precise position. It cannot shift, rotate or strike the lid, whether the case is carried by hand, on your back or in the cabin of an aircraft.
Reliability
Supports placed where the instrument is strongest, padded in velvet and fitted by hand in Rome, for the same protection on every journey, year after year.
